As I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of my fourth baby, I’m also preparing my heart for the postpartum season. Having a baby is tough on you physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Your days and nights run together because you are constantly nursing, changing, and burping that new little one.
When I had my first child, my mom said something to me that replayed in my mind over and over again through those hard times. She told me to enjoy being pregnant because some nights I might just want to put my little Charlotte back in my belly. It was hard being pregnant but she was quiet and not quite so needy when she was growing inside me.
I remember thinking, “No way, I want my little baby to hold and care for. I would never think that.” But sure enough, I felt this way on the nights she was screaming and refusing to nurse. Caring for a new baby is hard work.
Today, on Embracing a Simpler Life, I’m sharing with you 4 truths that you can cling to as a new mom. Head on over to Katie’s site and be encouraged by what helps me get through those tough newborn days.
